Tesla Coil #3 - Jan 1998

This coil was built for the Endeavour Center, which is a local hang-out place of science enthusiasts..

One of two 0.01 uF poly/AL rolled caps.

The rotary spark gap.

This is what happens when you use 1/4  inch plexiglass.  This disc flew apart during a test run.  Too bad I did not have the camera rolling, the sparks were great.

This is the secondary lift.  This allows for vertical adjustment.

The primary is made of 1/4 inch CU tubing and part of the secondary.

The control panel.  It is not much but it works.

A close up of the two VARIACs.  Each is rated at 10 amps.  One is for RSG speed control and the other is for HV control.
